Filters not working - still shows all closed tasks (albeit with a line through) when I select Open tasks only? Help!

Filters not working - still shows all closed tasks (albeit with a line through) when I select Open tasks only? Help!

When I select Open Tasks from the filter I am still seeing all the closed tasks - makes it look messy and unclear. What can I do to ensure that the filters actually work?
