form links and field aliases to update existing form

Hi

We are trying to create a form that goes through a few steps of information gathering from different departments before being deemed complete and sent to its final destination. we need the data gathered from the different departments to be uneditable once it has moved on from that department.

We are using two forms, one for the initial submission and one for the update.
the two forms are identical initially, except in the 2nd form the identical fields are disabled for input.
The first form is filled out and an email is generated on submission that pushes the data from that form and uses it to prefill the relevant parts of the 2nd form. This is providing accountability for the accuracy of the information provided and then the rest of the 2nd form is filled out.

This works for a straightforward form, however I have now ran into issues as I want to be able to do the same with a different form that needs to have a subform in it. However you cannot assign field aliases to subforms and I cannot update available fields in the existing form by prefilling the form using the update link.


Ideally if there was an option here for prefill field values in updated form ( ie the response link for editing the existing form

this would mean i no longer have to create multiples of the same form for staging info AND i could also stage forms with subformed data. it would also be perfect if the actions performed on submission allowed us to enable disable input to a field.



Is there anything like this in the pipeline?
