Forms working since last September now causing errors ...
Has the ZOHO Creator Team made any changes to the platform in the last few days ?
I ask because this page (https://help.creator.zoho.com/Feature-updates-and-bug-fixes.html) does not even report the changes made a few weeks ago (that caused problems for my client as reported at https://help.zoho.com/portal/en/community/topic/urgent-client-experiencing-problem-as-of-this-morning) ... now, another one of my clients ran into a different problem with Forms that have been working since last September/October.
Upon analysis, he found that the problem was confined to people who clicked on links in emails received from the Client's Application ... but only when they were using the MicroSoft (hotmail, live etc.) email reader.
The link is of the format ...
... when navigated from a hotmail/live email user, the link appears as ...
... the replacement of special characters like @ and & (with their respective escape codes) is not new ... but now, it seems that ZOHO Creator is messing up the processing of such urls ... in the Forms ...
a) the Email_Address box/field contains abc@xyz.com&Reference_Number=12345
b) the Reference_Number box/field contains 12345
... which messes up the logic in the on Load section of the Forms ... and gives an error message to the user.
In the last two days, this has caused a surge in telephone calls to the client's office from people experiencing this error situation ... of course, not everyone bothers to call ... resulting in untold business losses (as a result of missed Bookings !!!).
I was advised of the problem this morning and had to do an emergency fix so any Email Address containing the & character had this chracter and everything after it removed.
I am still waiting for a report of the promised investigation (by Sridhar) into the problem reported a few weeks ago ... in addition, I need to know why this second error cropped up even though no changes were made to the Forms !!!
Talking about waiting for responses, I am still waiting ...
