Hello everyone!
We're happy to announce that users can now generate payment links from their Bigin mobile app to collect payments from customers. This will help them manage their payments more efficiently, as payment records are linked to the pipeline or the contact/company, which gives business owners better visibility into and control over incoming payments. This also enhances the user experience, as the payment process has been streamlined.
Scenario:
John Bailey owns a small-scale digital marketing company. He finalizes a deal with a customer on a phone call while he's on the way to meet another customer. To close the deal, he generates a payment link from his Bigin mobile app and shares it with the customer, who pays immediately, thus confirming their partnership. He gets his work done on the go, without the need to share phone numbers or reach for his laptop.
- To activate this feature, users should integrate their Bigin account with any one of the four supported gateways: Razopay, Stripe, PayPal, or PayTM. Learn more about setting up payment links.
- If the account isn't integrated with any payment gateways, users will not see the payment option.
- Users can only generate payment links from the mobile app.
- Payment links are available only in Express, Premier, Bigin 360, and Zoho One editions.
Payment links are created for specific pipeline records and are associated with the contact or company relevant to the deal.
Users can generate payment links from the following places:
- The More icon in the pipeline record.
- The Add icon in the payment tab.
Users will have to provide the following details to create a payment link:
- Amount type - Users can choose their preferred amount type from the three options provided:
- From the Amount field - This option collects the amount specified in the pipeline record's Amount field. If the record consists of multiple currency fields, the user can choose the desired currency field from the picklist.
- Fixed amount - Users can set a fixed amount that their customers have to pay. This amount can't be changed once the payment link is generated.
- Decided by customer - In this amount type, users can set a minimum amount and the customer can decide the amount they want to pay.
- Due date - This is the time period within which the amount has to be paid.
Users should set the due date within 30 days of creating the payment link.
- Grace period - The users can also give their customer a grace period to complete the payment.
The maximum number of days that can be set as grace period is 15 days.
- Description - Users can also provide a description of the payment to be collected.
To create the payment link, the deal should be associated with a contact and an email address.
Users can view payment-related information in the following places:
- The Payments tab in the deal's pipeline record
- The Payments tab in the contact detail view page
- The Payments tab in the company detail view page
Users can also view payment details in a filtered view as all payments, received payments, pending payments, overdue payments, failed payments, and expired payments.
After creating a payment link, users can tap the More icon in the payment record to do the following:
- Copy the payment link.
- Share the payment link directly with customers.
- Delete the payment link.
- They can also directly tap on the payment link to share it with their customers.
