Global Picklist in Zoho Books
I have recently had a situation where it may be useful to categorise revenue and expense based on where they were generated in the business. Kind of like a "cost code".
Ideally this would be a custom picklist field which could be selectable on most books record types.
However, I have noted that it would be difficult to manage as every picklist would need to be maintained individually.
This is similar to a situation we had in CRM for a long time, where you might have the same pick list in multiple modules and you had to rely on admins to remember to update them all. It was solved only in the last year or two by introducing "Global Sets". So you create a global picklist and then you can use it in any module and only need to maintain one list. I believe this is also in place now in Zoho Form.
I would like to see global sets/picklists in Books!
