Gmail IMAP Sync - Email Reports

Hi,

I've been combing the documentation trying to get an answer to this, however I can't find anything concrete.

Our CRM users have connected their Gmail accounts to the CRM through IMAP via the Mail Addon. It's syncing correctly, with the emails being linked to the contacts etc. So that's working fine. What we're trying to do now is start reporting on the emails that are being sent to our clients, in order to track the activity of our Sales Team for their KPIs. The issue is, none of the email reports seem to be accurately reflecting the emails that have been actually sent. The key thing here is the team are not using the CRM to send their emails, they're doing it all from Gmail. The reports look like they're only including the emails sent from the CRM. Emails sent from SalesInbox also aren't included.

Does anyone know if it is possible to report on the emails sent using the Gmail client? Do we have to use the CRM if we want these to be tracked? What about if we used Zoho Mail instead, and connected that via POP to our Gmail account?

Would really appreciate any advice on this.
