Having Trouble Verifying My Domain

Hi All -- I'm new here and having trouble getting my domain verified. I was hosting my site with Hostgator, but recently switched to WP Engine, which doesn't host email. I switched the domain to WPE before trying to move my email to Zoho.

I hope someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong!

So far, I've tried:

- CNAME: Followed directions for changing the DNS through HostGator, my previous host. I bought the domain through them. This does not appeared to have worked. 

- HTML: Downloaded the Zoho file and uploaded it to WP Engine. It's uploaded correctly, because I see a verification code when I click the  /zohoverify/verifyforzoho.html link. However, when I click the Verify button I get an error message: " We are unable to locate the HTML file in the specified path. You can try the other verification methods, or download the HTML file and try again."
