Header and Footer options in Zoho Writer
Having different headers and footers on odd and even pages or on the first page is something we all need to use from time to time. Here's how you can easily do the same with Writer.
Different First Page
To make the header appear only on the first page, do the following:
Double click the header on the first page. This will give you access to the Header and Footer options on the left panel. Now check the Different First Page option from the left panel. Now add the content on the header for the first page. Since you've selected the Different First Page option, the header will appear only on the first page.
Different Header / Footer for odd and even pages
This option allows you to format headers and footers separately for odd and even pages. For example, you might choose to have the left page headers display the book's title while the right page headers display the chapter title.
To apply headers and footers to odd and even pages, double click the header on the first page. This will give you access to the Header and Footer options on the left panel. Now check the Different Even & Odd Pages option from the left panel. Now add the content for the different the header and footer.
Same Header or Footer on all pages
By default, the content in all the headers and footers in a document will appear the same. To apply same headers and footers to all pages, simply double click the header or footer on any page and add the content that you want.
How does that affect the top or bottom margin that is set for pages?
When you increase the size of the header (or footer) beyond the top (or bottom) margin, it will push the document content down (or up). This will only change the margins for the page on which the header or footer appears. If you make the First Page Header/Footer larger, then the margin remains unchanged for the remaining pages.
