Hide discontinued Products and what is the use of Product Sales end date and Support Expiry Date for?

Hi

We have recently stopped selling a version of a Product line and we started selling the new version

So the Photos, Descriptions and Prices are now different but the Names of these products are basically the same.

Our problem is that we don't want to delete the "old" version of the product in Zoho CRM but we also don't want these old products to show up while creating Quotes/Orders/Invoices... as to not get them confused with the new ones.

We have changed their Product Sales end date and Support Expiry Date but they still show up on the "add line items" when creating Quotes/Orders/Invoices

Is there a way to hide them from these modules? and is there a real use of the  Sales end date and Support Expiry Date fields other than provide info ?
