How can I access the "Line Item" ( Product ) data inside Sales Orders?

How can I access the "Line Item" ( Product ) data inside Sales Orders?

For a client of us; we need to create several automation rules based on selected "Product"s inside the "Sales Orders". 

What we plan to do is : 
- To create custom fields inside "Product" modules to be able to define specific product attributes that will govern the frequency and logic of automation.
- To create automation rules based on "Product Line Item" data inside "Sales Order" dependent on the "Products" that are selected. 

In the Zoho CRM API; it is possible to create "Products as Line items" inside a "Sales Order". But how can we reach these line items? Do we need to use Deluge Script for this?
