How can I construct a link to a record in an email template.

I want to setup up a workflow rule that sends an email to our admin assistant whenever an Account or Contact is created or updated.

In the email that is sent, I'd like to have a link to that specific record in zoho.  I've tried a few copy/pastes from my browser, but it seems that every time it comes as just a link to the list view for that type.

How can I link directly to a record?
