How do I add events to calendar without having to associate to a project?

How do I add events to calendar without having to associate to a project?

I am interviewing later on and wanted to add my interviews to the calendar but it expects me to choose a project.

Surely there should be a personal calendar where I can add my own appointments etc without everything having to be associated to a project?
