How do I convert an account that is no longer a customer to a lead for future follow up?

How do I convert an account that is no longer a customer to a lead for future follow up?

I have an account that recently left to a competitor.  How can I move the account to a lead so I can follow up with them in a month to see if it worked out or if I can win them back?
