Hi
I wonder if anyone can help me with my problem.
The problem
It is imperative that my company is able to have a calendar based schedule of sales calls for the months ahead. This is a BASIC requirement of a CRM system. It MUST be calendar based, as the user might need to physically move one or several calls to a different date on the calendar, should their itinerary change.
The solution, however, is MISSING in Zoho CRM, it would seem.
- I cannot view tasks on my calendar, so I can't use tasks to achieve this. A dashboard with a list of future tasks that are really scheduled calls is useless as it does not fulfil the requirement above. Using this method, a user would have to physically open ten tasks and change the dates of them in order to move ten tasks to another date.
Anyway, why should we used tasks when Zoho CRM has a 'schedule call' facility, right?
- Say I have a scheduled call arranged for today. Once completed, let's say the outcome is to ring them again in a month's time. What do I do? It seems that I have to RECREATE the call, as a scheduled call and Re-enter all of the details myself.
Zoho CRM prompts me to create a new task as a result of the call but, as I have already explained, this is pointless as tasks do not appear on the user's calendar, only calls and events.
So, in essence, for our sales team to have a 'scheduled sales call' calendar, they must manually close a call then manually recreate another one with the same details, every time a new future call is the result of the previous call.
Given that this will be the case on most occasions, it seems like a huge oversight on Zoho's part.
I repeat, tasks are useless for this purpose as they are not calendarised, and cannot be date-reassigned in bulk.
How do Zoho expect people to use their system?
I ask because I don't understand the logic, at all. Zoho CRM allows a user to create a call in the future. Then, when they reach that date and they edit it after making the call, they are prompted to set a task to remind them to make a call (which they would then have to make MANUALLY, and from scratch! Why on earth aren't they prompted to schedule another call as a result of the first call?
I love the layout of Zoho CRM and think it will work well for us in most other aspects, but this obvious limitation is more than just a frustration, it is a crucial and pointlessly time consuming part of what will make up a large part of its daily usage.
Can anyone help? I see unresolved forum posts dating back four years that show that this is a big issue for many users, and it seems like it's been largely ignored.
Thanks in advance.
