Here is my user case:
I am a remote worker. My e-mail server is in a remote location.
I am currently using Zoho Mail as my principal e-mail client.
I have enabled the Zoho Mail add-in for ZCRM and it is configured properly. I can send e-mail directly from ZCRM and it is associated with the record and also shows up in my ZMail sent items.
I use an an Android phone to access my e-mail server for sending and receiving e-mail when travelling.
DESIRED FUNCTIONALITY:
1 - I want e-mail I send from both my Zoho Mail and ZCRM clients to show up as sent e-mail on the remote e-mail server maintained by my employer.
2 - I want to be able to see e-mail I have sent from ZCRM and ZMail on my Android phone
3 - I want to be able to see e-mail I have sent from my Android phone in my Zmail/ZCRM clients.
4 - I want replies to e-mails I sent through ZCRM to automatically be attached/logged in the appropriate ZCRM records.
Right now the way things operate I cannot see mail that I have sent from ZMail or ZCRM on my Android phone. If I get hit by a bus then my employer does not have access to my sent e-mails.
In this day and age I see this as extremely important functionality.
If I understand things correctly the only way I can accomplish this business use case is to buy a copy of MS Outlook, enable IMAP access to my e-mail server and then purchase the Outlook Plug-in (which according to the forums is extremely buggy for Outlook 2010).
I believe that my usage case is not much different from a lot of other remote sales and service professionals. I imagine that many others probably have this need also.
I don't mind having to use a third-party IMAP enabled mail client if that is what it takes. But I sure wish that I could use Thunderbird instead of Outlook and save $130 USD per user by using a free client instead of paying through the nose for the MS client.
