How do I get the time to display in received email?

How do I get the time to display in received email?

The time the email came through only displays in email received today. If I'm away for a couple days, I cannot tell what time of day an email from one or two days ago came through. Many times this is important. How do I remedy this so it displays either on the main inbox page or within each email when I open it?
