How do I record a phone call?

Hi,

I'm brand new to CRM, actually I'm not a salesperson at all.  I'm a software developer who's trying to integrate a VoIP system with various CRM systems.  

I have a simiple question:  suppose a person, probably a salesperson, receives a phone call from a customer or potential customer.  How can I make a record of that phone call in the Zoho CRM system?

I see things like Cases, Leads, Tasks, and Activities, but I'm not sure which is best.
