How to call custom script for Zoho

How can I create a custom script in Zoho CRM that can be called on an action (such as a workflow rule or on creating an account)?

For example, I'd like to create a new folder in box.net when I create a new Account in Zoho CRM.  I need to make a call to the box.net API (REST / SOAP / XML call) to do this.  Can this be done and how?
