How to charge Convenience fee OR payment gateway charges to the end client who is paying the invoice?
Hello, I am creating this topic after having discussions with various sets of users and have understood that with people moving more and more to digital payments, it is important for the client to enable the "Convenience fee" kind of scenario.
I have used various portals myself where the payment gateway charges are borne by the end customer, and not the merchant or the invoice issuing party. These are often referred to as Gateway charges, Happy Charges, or Convenience fees.
1. So, if the Payment gateway charges are 2% per transaction, and if the customer goes ahead and selects the option to make payment via Razorpay, this convenience fee gets added to the payment line as a Convenience charge.
2. In a more advanced scenario, the software should be able to fetch real-time charges from the payment gateway which are different for each mode and each card (example for Debit Card are 2% and Credit Card are 1.85% and so on)
