How to export to Excel or other format

I need to have an electronic version of my calendar for each month. I need this as a way to record all the events that have occurred (we use the calendar for volunteers to sign-up for events and I need a copy of that). As far as I can tell, I am only able to export the calendar as an ics file. That doesn't help me.

Is there any way to export all events from a single month to another format?
