What options would be recommended in this situation?

I have set up a number of parent/child fiends: Main Category and Sub Category. This works well to minimise the amount of scrolling needed to allocate sub categories.

However, we do have accounts and records which fit under more than just one of the Parent Field Main Categories. As we can't have more than one Parent, is there another way to have two or more fields that have specific sub categories?
