I need to import a number of records into a custom module. The imported data does not contain a record owner column, so I need set the owner of the imported record to that of the account owner that the record is linked to (The imported file has an account code column) How do I do this?

i.e.

I have a custom module that contains records for all the cars an account holder owns (account number 1234 in this example). The account owner is Joe Smith. I am importing 50 car records into the custom module which will show against account 1234, when the cars are imported the record owner for each needs to be set to Joe Smith (The user managing this account)

Currently they all get set to John Doe (Me) when I import them. I can't see any way in assignment rules to do what I need. Currently the owner of the account can't see any of these records only me who imported them.

The imported file will have 10's of thousands of records in it that will need to be assigned in the same way. This cannot be done pre import as the file is automatically coming out of one of our back office systems.

Any help appreciated.
