How to manage combined consulting + training type of assignments
Hi!
I need guidance on how to manage a special type of assignment we have at our consulting company. Some of our assignments combine consulting
work with standard training. For the consulting portion, we quote time and a user rate and we
charge for the time worked on the project, so there are no issues there. But
for the training portion, the training is charged at a flat fee, but the trainer
also books time against it, for example, while preparing for it and delivering
it.
What is the best way to handle
this? The hours for the trainer need to count towards his/her average fee rate, but we would not charge the client based on hours for that portion of
the assignment.
Any ideas?
