I close a significant share of deals through independent sales agents, i.e. people or companies that are not part of my organization. They get me in contact with possible customers and once my invoice is paid they receive their share. Or, sometimes I bill them and they bill the end customer with their margin on top.
Since I started using Zoho CRM I was wondering what is the smartest and most native way of implementing this role. Currently when I set up a new deal in CRM I add my (external) sales agent as customer and once the deal is won, I change the customer to the end customer. But by doing it this way, I am losing the data connection to my sales agent in the deals module.
On the other hand, adding the sales agent as a contact role "sales agent" for the deal is also not possible, since I can only add contact roles from the same company as my customer's.
Now what do you (Zoho + CRM users) recommend to map these independent sales agents in CRM?
