We currently have two separate legal entities:
A Proprietorship Firm with its own GSTIN
A Private Limited Company with a different GSTIN
However, operationally, both companies deal with the same products, and we would like to manage the physical stock/inventory centrally as much as possible.
Our requirement is:
Maintain separate GSTINs and legal company details for invoicing and purchasing.
Sales and purchase transactions should be recorded under the correct company/GSTIN.
Maintain proper accounting and GST compliance separately for both entities.
At the same time, we want to view and manage the combined/central stock position because many items are common between both companies.
We would also like to know whether stock can be allocated or transferred between the Proprietorship and Pvt. Ltd. entities while maintaining the correct audit trail.
Can this be managed within a single Zoho Inventory organization using multiple GST registrations, warehouses, branches, or any other functionality?
Or, because these are two different legal entities with separate GSTINs, do we need to create two separate Zoho Inventory organizations?
If two organizations are required, is there any recommended method to:
Maintain a common Item Master
View consolidated stock across both companies
Transfer stock from one company to another
Avoid maintaining duplicate item data
Get consolidated inventory reports
Please suggest the best Zoho Inventory / Zoho One setup for this scenario.
Thanks.
