how to paste plain text and/or clear formatting?

hi all,

i've looked in the forums and scrutinized the toolbars. i cannot for the life of me find a way to paste formatted text as plain text. this issue comes up over and over again. in google docs, there is no way to do it either, but at least one can click on 'clear formatting' after one has pasted it in.

if anyone knows how to do this, i would greatly appreciate the information!
