How to prevent people from seeing closed potentials?

We have some sales people, and we want them to be able to see what is currently going on. But we do not want them to see all historical potentials...or better yet, only have them see historical potentials, but NOT see how much revenue those historical potentials brought in.

Is there a way to filter out (at a global level) specific groups/roles' ability to see closed Potentials (NOT open ones.,...just closed ones)?
