How-to: Re-Signup for a Zoho Account ?
I came into having a Zoho account somewhat backwards, and thus have an odd user/account-name.
So far, I haven't really been concerned, because I've only done some trying out of Zoho.
But in order to get serious with Zoho, I really do need having it changed.
As far as I can tell, there is no way to change that - except for closing the account, and re-opening from new.
So, The full story & the questions.
History:
I originally created an account for posting on the duck.co forum, which is totally unrelated to Zoho - except! it's a forum running on the Zoho Discussion platform.
In order to avoid my full/normal/real name showing up in the duck.co forum, I chose my normal abbreviated name w. an extension of "onDuck" (because my normal preferred nickname was taken).
The problem in effect now is that a great number of places inside Zoho has reflections of the Zoho AccountID (examples are the Author field in a Zoho Writer document, the Zoho email address)
So in short, the only solution I see is closing the Zoho account and opening a new, which should not be a major problem, but ...
Steps :
Step.1: BackUp all Data found in Zoho.
DONE! (No problem)
Step.2: In Zoho Accounts \ Settings \ Authorized Websites
Revoke Access for all Trusted Domains (only one found: duck.co)
DONE! (No problem)
Step.3: In Zoho Accounts \ Close Account
>>Your account is part of Business Organization : "MinOrg".
>>Please, contact your organization administrator (me@gmail.com), to close your account.
Oops! - Yeah, I did create a dummy organisation which I never configured (except for giving it the name "MinOrg")
So, I thought I'd better go and delete it:
- in Admin Console \ Dashboard \ Delete Organisation
Clicking the "Delete"-button asks me for an Admin Password.
Ehh ?!? - To my recollection I have never entered any password in Zoho, because! I have always used my Google/GMail account for signing in to Zoho.
What do I do now ?
