We have a customer that unsubscribed by accident and is requesting that we add them back to our email campaigns. I've tried finding a method to do this but my searches are coming up empty. Any tips on how this can be done?
Once when your contacts unsubscribe they can be resubscribed by following below mentioned steps.
1. After your contacts unsubscribe we will send them unsubscribe confirmation email where they can find an option to resubscribe to you.
2. You can also create a signup form and share it with your contacts to resubscribe. Once after they resubscribe we will send them resubscription confirmation email which will have an option to verify their resubscription.
To create signup form, kindly go to Contacts --> Signup Forms --> Create Form. Once after creating signup form you can copy the signup form URL and share it with your contacts. If you already have Zoho Campaigns signup form embedded in your website then you can also share that signup form URL to resubscribe.

I have one follow-up question. Zoho CRM and Campaigns are linked. The contact that we're trying to re-subscribe is a CRM contact record. Does knowing that they're synchronized in from CRM change our approach? Do I perhaps need a CRM form or will a Campaign sign-up form still work?
Zoho Campaigns is a permission based email marketing tool so when unsubscribed contacts are resynced from Zoho CRM we will ignore them until they resubscribe in Zoho Campaigns. Though your contacts are synced from Zoho CRM you need to use Zoho Campaigns signup forms to resubscribe for sending further emails.
Resyncing contacts from Zoho CRM won't impact the resubscription of your contacts. Once when your contacts resubscribe in Zoho Campaigns you can still resync them from Zoho CRM and continue sending emails.
Note : Once when a contact unsubscribes in Zoho Campaigns it has to resubscribe separately in Zoho Campaigns despite of subscribing again in Zoho CRM.

Hi Marshall. thanks for the info. I already had a email signup form so I sent it to my unsubscribed client and he filled it out. I have the confirmation email that he re-subscribed to my newsletter, but he still shows as unsubscribed. Any ideas why?
When contacts resubscribe we will send confirmation email once again. Kindly check with the particular contact whether confirmation email is received and resubscription is confirmed using the link in the confirmation email. If yes but still contact is existing in Unsubscribed Contacts then kindly share below details by dropping an email to support[@]zohocampaigns.com to check further.
If the customer has unsubscribed on Zoho Campaigns (marketing email - Newsletter), but they only want to receive important customer-related purchase emails from Zoho CRM > Email Templates, am I right in the understanding that they still have to re-subscribe via Zoho Campaigns?
Because this re-subscribe link gives the customer the impression that they have to receive newsletter signups in order to receive any emails from, us, which isn't best practice.
In Zoho Campaigns - Zoho CRM sync setup you will find an option named "Update email opt-out to Zoho CRM in" which will help you to update the Email Opt-out field in Zoho CRM when a synced contact unsubscribes in Zoho Campaigns.
Also in Zoho CRM new sync setup, you will see below mentioned options to update Email Opt-out details in Zoho CRM when a contact unsubscribes in Zoho Campaigns.
1. Email opt-out field of Zoho CRM
When this option in sync setup is enabled and a Zoho CRM record synced to Zoho Campaigns unsubscribes we will update the Email Opt-out field in Zoho CRM so no further emails will be sent from both applications.
If you wish to continue sending emails from Zoho CRM then you can manually disable the Email Opt-out field of the particular record and start sending emails.
2. Custom field of Zoho CRM
If you wish to maintain Zoho Campaigns unsubscribe details in a separate field or if you wish to continue emailing your contacts from Zoho CRM even when they unsubscribe from Zoho Campaigns then you can enable this option and configure a Zoho CRM custom checkbox field.
When this option is enabled, we will update the Zoho Campaigns unsubscribe details in Zoho CRM custom checkbox field so default Email Opt-out field will remain unused so you can continue sending emails from Zoho CRM as per your requirement.
