HTML code in "Configure HTML/Javascript" gadget

Is it possible to use an embedded link in an article when using the "Configure HTML/Javascript" gadget? I would like to link to the PayPal website in this following example. But the entire string of code shows instead of a clickable "PayPal" link. Here is a sample graph:

But <a href="https://www.paypal.com/"> <b>PayPal</b></a>, who has been around over 10 years in the online payments arena, is now turning their attention to offline retailers and small business. According to PayPal executives, this market is 17 times larger than the online sector.
