I would like to share data elements between Accounts, Contacts, and Leads

There is certain information I enter at the account level that I want to feed to the contacts, not just to see it, but also to be able to create views based on those criteria.  It would be nice to allow bidirectional editing, but I would be satisfied to simply be able to map those fields.  I find myself creating the same fields in accounts and Contacts and then doing import/export, when mapping the field would be a lot easier.

Are there any plans?
