.ics file not opening

.ics file not opening

The .ics file attached to the interviewer and candidate notification emails is not opening once downloading.  I tried on an android phone in a hotmail email account and when I try to preview it or open it after downloading I get a describe error.  On my laptop with a gmail account I see it attached and can click the download button, but it won't open once downloaded.
