Dear Zoho Desk Support Team,

We are writing to request a new feature that would allow for the creation of workflows triggered by specific date-time conditions. Currently, Zoho Desk does not provide native support for date-time-based triggers, limiting workflow automation capabilities.

Proposed Solution:

  • Introduce Date-Time Trigger: Implement a new trigger type that allows workflows to be initiated based on specific dates and times.
  • Flexible Configuration: Provide options to configure date-time triggers using various formats and time zones. This should include also the option to set the trigger dynamically and relatively.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced Workflow Automation: Enable more complex and time-sensitive workflows.
  • Improved Efficiency: Automate tasks based on specific deadlines and schedules.
  • Greater Flexibility: Provide users with more control over workflow execution.

By implementing date-time-based triggers, Zoho Desk can provide users with a more powerful and flexible workflow automation tool.

You can use the "Due Date" trigger point to run a workflow. Have you tried that already? If so, is there something specific you’re looking to achieve?

I just want to clarify the feature request to ensure we're on the same page. We're referring to the ability to set a date/time field within a ticket and use that field as a trigger for workflows or other automations in Zoho Desk.

From what I understand, this wouldn't be possible using the Due Date trigger option you mentioned in your comment—correct?

, We are clear on that! The execution isn't happening based on the configured time, which is exactly what we're looking to address with this feature request. Since the previous request was based on the Due date, I had suggested the Field update option as a workaround :)
