Import failure process, interactive desired

It is desirable for the import process to give some opportunity to know what the failures may be, and opportunity to revise the import set-up. Our choices now are to ignore a column, or ignore imported rows, and to re-import, after attempting to figure out the problem, which seems not to have any reporting on the details of the import difficulty, on first try.

Some of the items (data in particular fields) at issue may be intended, and perhaps a better choice for the data type will permit imports to proceed in whole (for example, a blank or text in a field "automatically" termed "numeric"... if the location of the "bad" data or records could be ascertained.
