Important changes in CSV and DB Upload Tool

We would like to inform you on the recent enhancements in the CSVUploadTool and the DBUploadTool that would ease your Upload Tool usage.

Download the Latest Version of Upload Tool   (requires migration before 30th of July 2013)  

We request you to use the latest Upload Tool released on  June 17th 2013, as support for older versions will be removed by 30th July 2013. You can download the latest version from here. 
 

Permanent Authentication Token:  

The new Upload Tool supports Authentication Token (AuthToken) for accessing the Zoho Reports service to upload data.  This allows you to upload data using Upload Tool without exposing your user credentials (your password).

As you might have  already  kn own,   AuthToken is a permanent user specific authentication token used to authenticate the user to access Zoho Reports service via Upload Tool and API requests. This token is specific to each Zoho service and cannot be interchanged among Zoho services (i.e., the AuthToken generated for Zoho CRM API cannot be used with Zoho Reports API). Generating the AuthToken is a straight forward,  one-time  process. The token will remain valid till it is explicitly removed or regenerated.  Click here to know more on AuthToken.

There are improvisations in the Upload Tool command line parameter options too.  Now you can specify User Login Email id, AuthToken and Database Owner Email id as command line parameters in various combinations.  To know on these Command line options and on how to use AuthToken to upload data using Upload Tool, refer to the following help documents.
  

Using Reports Login Email Address:

We also recommend you to use Zoho Reports Login Email Address, instead of Zoho Username in the Upload Tool command line parameters or in the Upload tool configuration file (i.e., <UPLOAD_TOOL_HOME/conf/common_params.conf) wherever applicable.
