Hello everyone,
Greeting from Zoho Creator! We're excited to announce that we'll be rolling out significant backend updates to Zoho Creator's built-in connectors to enhance security by following the latest frameworks. The existing version of some of the connectors associated with your connections are going to be deprecated, so you'll need to upgrade each of them to the latest version of the connector. We believe these upgrades are a crucial step in maintaining the highest standards of security and performance.
What is changing?
Forte Connector
Forte has informed us that the current backend integrations connecting Zoho Creator with Forte will be deprecated. They plan to adopt a more advanced, PCI-compliant system that offers enhanced security. To meet this requirement, we're rolling out a newer version of the Forte connector in Creator. If you've already configured a Forte connection, you'll need to manually update it to the new version by following the steps listed below:
How to update
For C6 users:
- Navigate to Connections under Microservices.
- Click the Forte connection.
- Next, on the Connection details page, click Update Connection. A confirmation pop-up will be displayed, and upon clicking Update and Authorize, a second pop-up will appear for you to enter the new authorization fields. Once finished, your Forte connector in Zoho Creator will be updated to the new version.
For C5 users:
- Navigate to Connections under Account Setup.
- Click on the three dots (...) within the Forte card. In the dropdown, click Update Connection.
A confirmation pop-up will be displayed, and upon clicking Update and Authorize, a second pop-up will appear for you to enter the new authorization fields. Once finished, your Forte connector in Zoho Creator will be updateed to the new version.
Timeline
For users with existing Forte connections, the deadline to update to the new version will be September 30, 2024.[Note: Extended till 31-Oct-2024] If you fail to update, any existing authorized connections will no longer process transactions after the specified date. We strongly urge all users who have an existing Forte connection to update to the new version before the deadline to avoid any potential disruptions.
Beginning today, 20-Sep-2024, any new Forte connection created will automatically be in the new version.
PayPal connector
The existing version operates on a basic authentication model provided by Paypal. To enhance security, we're moving to the new version, based on OAuth authentication. By transitioning to OAuth authentication, we're ensuring the highest level of data protection for connections between PayPal and Zoho Creator.
How to migrate
For C6 users:
- Navigate to Connections under Microservices.
- Click the PayPal connection.
- Next, on the Connection details page, click Update Connection. A confirmation pop-up will be displayed, and upon clicking Update and Authorize, you'll be redirected to the PayPal authentication page, where you'll need to provide your credentials. Once finished, your PayPal connector in Zoho Creator will be upgraded to the new version.

Timeline
Existing PayPal connections will remain on the old version until manually updated by following the steps provided above. The old PayPal connections will be fully deprecated at a later date, based on relevant communications we receive from PayPal. We strongly urge users with existing PayPal connections to update them as soon as possible to avoid any disruptions.
Note: Any user who creates a PayPal connection for the first time after 26-Sep-2024 will automatically be on the new version. The update is only required for users with existing PayPal connections.
Payflow Pro and Payments Pro deprecation
On a related note, we'd like to inform you that PayPal's Payflow Pro and Payments Pro gateways are slated for full deprecation. While PayPal has not yet specified a sunset date, transactions will persist until further notice. Creation of new Payments Pro and Payflow Pro connections will no longer be allowed. However, existing connections based on these two connectors will continue to function until further notice.
Soft deprecation of connectors
We have also rolled out new versions of the following connectors. Any new connection you create for these services will automatically be in the latest version. However, existing connections created with these older versions will undergo soft deprecation, and we'll provide you with the option to update them at a later date.
