Importation and Links

I would like to export my account data at the end of every month and then reimport it after doing some updating of the data through an access data base. (Sales data)

I would like to then import it back and have all of the same lines such as contacts etc.

In my test when I export and delete the old account information the contacts associated with it are also deleted.

Is there a way to do what I am looking for?
