Importations and Linking

I would like to export my accounts out of the DB every month and then using an access database update some of the information such as account rep and sales data.

When this is completed I woudl like to import the refreashed data and have all of the contact and other associated fields still link up.

Can this be done. In my test when I delete the old account data and then do the import all of the contacts associated with the account are deleted.
