Importing Multiple Records from an Excel Spreadsheet

Hi there,

When I was trying to import multiple records from a CSV file to your database, I came across a problem when I used MS Excel to generate the file for cutting and pasting into the database.

The problem I had with Excel was that the "Notes" field in my database, which contains a lot of text, displayed as a series of hatch characters. When I uploaded the file, these characters were saved in the database, rather than the text which should have been there.

Hence, I decided to use Open Office Calc and saved the output as a CSV file. This has solved the problem, but I wondered if anyone else has experienced this? I tried to widen the "Notes" field/cell column in Excel, but this had no effect.
