Hello there,
We hope you're staying safe and healthy. As we continue building Zoho Meeting into a complete, feature-rich web conferencing solution, we're making big and small feature updates and enhancements every month.
Here are a few of our latest updates:
Common updates for meetings and webinars
Invalidating the keys of past meetings and webinars: This is an important security update. We're in the process of invalidating the keys of all of our users' past meetings and webinars. This prevents hackers from stealing the details of your past sessions by randomly guessing and creating keys. As a result, you won't be able to start or edit your past meetings and webinars anymore.
Noise cancellation: We've made enhancements to lower background noise in both meetings and webinars.
Meeting module updates
Improved controls for meeting hosts:
- Screen sharing control: Meeting hosts can now disable screen sharing by participants in the Settings menu.
- Unmuting control: If meeting hosts want complete control over unmuting each participant in a meeting, they can disable the participants' ability to unmute themselves.
Participant notification: Enable entry/exit tone from Settings to get notified every time a participant joins or leaves a meeting.
Chat notification: Participants can now enable sound notifications for new messages in the chat tab.
Recording notification: Participants will now be notified with a "Recording in progress" message when the meeting host starts recording a meeting.
Audio-only meetings: You can now start audio-only meetings by using the Audio conferencing option under Meet now. Participants won't be able to use their camera in these audio conferencing sessions.
View duration: A timer at the top of the meeting UI displays the elapsed time from the start of the meeting. The total duration of the meeting will also be displayed at the end of the meeting.
Chat transcripts: Participants can now download chat transcripts at the end of a meeting.
Hide inactive video feeds: Disabled video feeds will be hidden from the active meeting UI and only active video feeds will be displayed to all participants.
View dial-in numbers: Previously, dial-in numbers for phone conferencing could only be viewed if a user switched from computer audio to phone audio in the meeting UI. Now, dial-in numbers can be viewed from Settings and can be used for phone conferencing. This feature is only available in the paid version of Zoho Meeting.
Filter participants: You can now filter the list of participants who have joined a meeting through computer, mobile, and the phone dial-in option.
Cliq status update: If you've integrated your Zoho Cliq account with Zoho Meeting, your Cliq status will be automatically updated to "In a meeting" while you're in one. This way, your team members will know when you're free to collaborate.
Muted audio by default: The audio of all participants will be muted by default when they join a meeting. This prevents participants' voices from being heard unintentionally when they aren't ready to speak in a meeting.
Take care and stay safe.
