Integrate Zoho with email client

I would like to know if there is any way to use an external email client (like Outlook) and both inbound and outbound emails captured and stored with Zoho accounts and leads. 

Right now the emails are only tracked if I use Zoho mail for outbound and when mails are received with the correct FROM account. I have tried using CC for my Zoho address from my email client, but these messages are still not captured. 

Bottom line - I need to know if I can use a standard email software program and have all messages collected and associated with the associated accounts/leads. Using the Zoho email facility for all communication is just not feasible
