Hello everyone,
We have introduced an instant action in the Workflow rule called "create record". The action will allow you to create records in standard and custom modules.
For example, you can define a rule to automatically create a record in the Deals module whenever the contact's status is pre-qualified.
Supported modules: Record creation is supported in the Leads, Accounts, Contacts, and Deals modules.
When can it be executed: The action can be executed on a record action and at a particular date/time.
While configuring the action you can:
- Select the module and the layout to which the record will be added.
- Select the record's owner; who can be any CRM user or the user who has set the rule. Alternatively, you can select any user from the user lookup (created by, modified by etc.) or custom user fields (these fields must be present in the parent module) as the record owner.
- Enter values to the fields, so that the fields are pre-populated when the record is created in the module. Some fields will be displayed in the create record window by default, but you may include the other fields from the layout. You can enter the values either manually or use merge fields.
