We are here with a simple yet productive feature enhancement, again!
Thus far, users were added to the CRM system manually by the administrators. Also each user had to be assigned a role and profile to enable them to perform activities in CRM.
Now, we have introduced the option to Import Users directly to the CRM account to allow bulk addition of users . With this feature, admins can import new users and even update details of the existing users. In addition, the users roles, profiles, language preferences and other details can be included in the import file . Users are associated to their Roles by their Role Name or Role ID and Profiles by their Profile Name or Profile ID.
Limits and file formats
- Supported File Formats: The import file that CRM supports are - .xls, .xlsx, & csv.
- Import Limit: Admins or people with manage user permission can import up to 1000 users in a single import. However, the number of users that can be imported depends on the subscribed CRM edition.
Unlike the manually added users, the users who are imported are not sent an automatic email invitation to join the CRM organization account. They must be invited manually by clicking the Re-invite button from the record detail page.
Note: We will soon be supporting the automatic invite feature for imported users as well.
Updating existing users information
Aside from adding new users, admins can update the details of existing users with the import functionality. The existing users are associated based on their User ID or Email ID.
What are the limitations?
- Associating Reporting Manager, Territory and Shift Hours are yet to be supported.
- Undoing the import is yet to be supported.
