There are significant problems with the Inventory Module we have been reporting for the past two years and we have yet to see any progress on resolving these. The problems we have seen are:
1. You can DELIVER a Purchase order more than once which adds to the Qty In Stock value.
Solution: Prevent Purchase orders from being DELIVERED more than once
2. If you delete a Sales Order with items, the items are not removed from the Qty In Demand.
Solution: Don't allow the delete of a Sales Order when it has Items
3. If you INVOICE a Sales Order, you can still update the item qty in a Sales order. This update affects the Qty In Demand on the Product but does not affect the Qty In Stock.
Solution: Don't allow updates to items in Sales Orders after they have been invoiced
4. If you change an item in a Sales Order, the Qty In Demand is not reduced for the old item and increased for the new item.
Solution: Don't allow users to change the Item unless the Qty is 0.
I;m sure there are others but these are the ones we've been able to identify.
These bugs make the Qty In Stock and Qty In Demand field useless. One of the reasons we purchased the paid version of Zoho was the Inventory (as rudimentary as it is).
Please fix these issues once and for all.
