Inventory Templates: Editor and Mail-merge
I've created a template in Word, that fits on an A4 page that we will use to quote our customers.
I was hoping I could import a word document that would mail-merge the Zoho fields but this doesn't seem possible for the Quotes module. Also, upon opening a word document that I uploaded, the Writer decided to change all of the formatting.
So instead I created a single table in Word that contained all of our document fields. I then copied this into "Template Body" of a New Inventory Template
This looked good, except I had to reload the two images but nothing major. Upon saving "Only 32,000 characters allowed in your email content"
I assume this is looking at the HTML code and not the actual template design? Because I have this table, I'm at approximately 50,000 characters when reviewing the HTML.
This is rather frustrating. How do companies use their existing documentation with your system? What would be good is to use an uploaded Word document that has the merge fields in and the document is created on the fly, the same way as it is now (so using the word document to replace the Template writer) - this then creates the PDF in the exact layout that the user (i.e. your customer) requires.
This also makes it easier to create and administer multiple templates and upload them, rather than try to align the HTML in the editor each time (as editing the template body sometimes screws up the formatting)
Or, am I doing something completely wrong?
Kind Regards, Luke
