Issue with jQuery Tabs on mobile - iPhone, Android.

We have created a mobile version of our site (in .Net) using jQuery. This site includes a jQuery Tab, which works perfectly fine when viewed on a desktop browser (Firefox, IE, Chrome, Safari). The selection of tabs work fine when clicked with mouse. I have ASP.net ListView control in the tab's panel which fills the list elements.

When the same site is browsed on a mobile, the tab renders perfectly. However, the tabs are not selected when tapped on the individual tabs on mobile device.

On iPhone, I kept the tab pressed for 3 secs, a popup came to "Open" the link, or "Open the link in new Window". When I clicked open, it selected the tab which I kept pressed.

I have tried every possible thing to identify this. Can someone help me with this issue. I have a QA testing to be completed by Monday evening. Any help is appreciated.
