Keep sensitive PDFs protected with Zoho PDF Editor

Keep sensitive PDFs protected with Zoho PDF Editor

PDFs often contain confidential information in the form of financial reports, business proposals, contracts, or forms. Zoho PDF Editor helps you keep that information under control with password protection.

With two layers of protection, you can decide who can access your PDF and what they can do with it:
  1. Opening password: Require a password to open and view the PDF.
  2. Permissions password: Restrict actions such as copying, editing, printing, filling form fields, organizing pages, and extracting pages.
This lets you decide who can open your PDF and which actions they perform, while allowing you to update or remove those restrictions whenever needed.

Protection that adapts to your needs

You can change your password or the restrictions later if needed. When protection is enabled, a lock icon appears next to the PDF name, making the document's status easy to identify.
Need to share an unprotected version? Remove the password protection by entering the password used to open the PDF.

Secure PDFs in a few steps

Open your PDF and go to File > Password Settings > Protect with Password. Set the opening password, choose the actions you want to restrict, add a permissions password, and click Apply Password.
