Knowledge base password

Hi,

I'm setting up a knowledge base and community forum for our organisation. 
I've setup a test account using my personal email so I can see how it will look to an end user, however i can't login as I've no password. When i click on the Forgot password link to reset it, I dont get any email with instructions. 
Why would this be? And is there a workaround?
