Layouts specific to operation in module

Idea 

Layouts in CRM are one of the most powerful features, though seemingly simple. I love them! Right now, we can set layout assignments based on user roles. It will be really superb if layouts could also be assigned based on the module record operation ; for example, I want to see a different layout when a Lead is created, (say only those fields for Lead creation that is essential), and I want to see some other additional fields/sections/related lists on Lead edit operation.

✏️ Benefits
This has the following potential benefits that I can envision :
1. It clears the clutter because not every field/section is needed during every operation. 
2. It makes it easier to make people follow the business process (sales process, or lead followup or whatever) because only the required fields/sections/lists are visible during that specific operation on that record.
3. It's easier to train new comers to the team, since they don't get confused on seeing a full page of fields to fill in when they go ahead and try to enthusiastically create a new Lead, let's say, on Day 1 of their job!
