Lead import partially fails (cutom fields, rollback)

Hello,

I'm trying to import leads into my Zoho CRM account. The import works, except that certain fields are not imported.

Initially, the import worked on the specified fields (Last Name, Company, Designation, Email, Phone, and Description). However we have a "lead date" field that I wanted to import too. So I did a Rollback on the import. Then I created a Custom Field -- I think it was called "Contact Date" and specified as a date value. My XLS file is in Excel 97-2003 format and the date field is written as mm/dd/yyyy.

I then tried to import again. Most lead data (Last Name, Company, Designation, Email, Phone) was imported properly. However the Contact Date field did not populate. I'm not sure (I wasn't checking closely) but I don't think the Description field populated either.

So I did another Rollback and tried again, after re-formatting the import XLS. That didn't work. I did another Rollback and tried deleting the custom field, then importing again (ignoring that data field in the import). This time the Description field would not populate.

I've re-tried this many times, doing a Rollback after each unsuccessful attempt. I've tried re-creating the Custom Field with a different name, that didn't work. I tried deleting the new Custom Field. I tried "import my leads" and "import my organizations leads". Nothing seems to allow me to import text data into the Description field.

Since I was able to import this data into the Description field at the beginning, I suspect the problem is related to (a) custom fields, (b) rollbacks, or (c) repeated import attempts.

Do you have any idea how I can work around this problem?
